Good quality workforce development activities can have a ripple effect that can be seen far wider than just building knowledge.  A well designed strategy can impact the delivery of best practice, reduce burnout and improve the capacity of service delivery. 

 

This 2 day course is aimed at leaders and managers with no specialist training within learning and development and will help them understand the different dimensions required to build a holistic and robust workforce development strategy for their service. 

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course learners should be able to:

  • Define the organisational need for a workforce development strategy and action plan

  • Describe what resources are required to create a successful strategy

  • Examine the different tools and techniques  available to create meaningful workforce development

  • Explore the cultural changes needed to embed a successful strategy

  • Create an action plan that will allow you to build a robust workforce development and action plan for your own organisation

During this interactive course learners will:

  • Consider their own organisational workforce development needs​

  • Consider the difficulties and benefits of creating a strategy and action plan

  • Identify the resources required to help them design, implement and evaluate a strategy and action plan

  • Map out the next steps that are required to create their own organisational training needs assessment, strategy and action plan
